Apple Bourbon Steak Fajitas
Total time
- 1 to ½ lb flank steak
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 apple, sliced
- ½ cup water, to deglaze pan
- 1 packet of Campbell's Slow Cooker Apple Bourbon Sauce
- red & green peppers, additional apple slices, cheese, etc. to finish, by taste
- Pull out the slow cooker and have it ready.
- Heat a skillet over high heat. I prefer cast iron for a better sear.
- Brush the flank steak on both sides with some oil. Salt and pepper well.
- Cook steak on both sides until well-seared.
- Remove steak and place in slow cooker.
- Throw onion and apple slices into skillet (still on high heat) and stir often to prevent burning.
- Cook for a couple minutes until you have some nice caramelization on the mix.
- Add ½ cup water to pan and use wooden spoon to scrape pan bits. (deglazing)
- Pour into slow cooker on top of steak.
- Add entire packet of Campbell's Slow Cooker sauce to slow cooker.
- Close cooker with lid and turn on low setting.
- Cook for 7-8 hours.
- Toss steak in sauce but stirring lightly.
- Prepare any additional items for your fajitas by personal preference.
- I prefer to make several add-ons for a party, such as guacamole, salsa, cheese, sour cream and allow guests to prepare their own.
- Combine on a tortilla and enjoy!
