Homemade Peach Simple Syrup - Perfect to perk up cocktails and other recipes!
Ingredients
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1-2 peach, sliced (frozen can be used after thawed)
  • ½ teaspoon citric acid, optional (read below)
Instructions
  1. Bring water and sugar to a boil.
  2. Add peaches and stir well.
  3. Add citric acid for longer storage and to maintain color longer.
  4. Reduce to simmer after sugar is completely dissolved.
  5. Crush peaches when soft to release more flavor into the syrup.
  6. Reduce to simmer, cover and cook down for ~25-30 minutes.
  7. Syrup will be VERY hot. Be cautious.
  8. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  9. Strain peaches from syrup. Failure to do this could result in the bottle exploding. (read blog post!)
  10. Bottle and enjoy in your favorite recipes.
